Es ist sehr still geworden um die beiden Franzosen vom Pop-Duo AIR. Wie es aussieht werden Nicolas Godin und Jean-Benoit Dunckel im Februar kommenden Jahres ein neues Album auf den Markt bringen. Ist ja schon über 2 Jahre her, dass “Love 2″ erschienen ist. Das neue Album trägt den Titel “Le Voyage Dans La Lune” nach dem gleichnamigen Kurzfilm von Georges Melies aus dem Jahre 1902. AIR haben die Filmmusik für eine Neuversion dieses Films beigesteuert. Der Film wurde dieses Jahr in Cannes vorgestellt.

Die Jungs waren recht produktiv in den letzten Monaten und haben neben den Albumaufnahmen die Musik zu einem Kurzfilm für Cartier für deren Kampagne “How Far Would You Go For Love?” bereitgestellt.

Schöne 2step Nummer irgendwo zwischen Latin und frühen Drum n Bass Feeling angesiedelt. Fluffiger Track mit ordentlich Lieblingsmusik Potential. Nach seinem Album als Machine Drum ist Travis Stewart drauf und dran, mit seinem “Nebenprojekt” Sepalcure, den nächsten Homerun in diesem Jahr einzufahren. Insgesamt gediegener, verspielter und weniger kantig, schlägt Sepalcure genau in die Kerbe zwischen Post-Dubstep und Future Tech, die sowohl im vernebelten Club als auch auf dem heimischen Sofa funktioniert. Whilst we have the highest respect for the boy Duff Disco, he doesn’t quite have the swagger of Beyonce Knowles, or is that Beyonce Z now? That sounds pretty gash if we are honest. Beyonce Carter (Jay-Z’s real last name) just sounds dull. Anyway the point is that a name, like age means nothing, well depending if you are trying to buy booze or fags or get into a strip club where age means quite a lot. Well it’s supposed to, I guess it depends on how old you look.

The point of all this (if there actually is one, which is highly debatable) is that Duff has less Swagger than Beyonce, but he has injected his very own little piece of magic into her number one chart smashing, earth-axis-re-alligning hit ‘Crazy in Love’. This has never been released, never will be and will not be available to DL for that long (super limited, super sought after shizzle right here y’now) so get moving, signup and show some crazy love for Duff. Right Now.

Absolut feines Stück, das mal eben den verstaubten Dance Sounds der 90er einen ordentlichen Beat verpasst. DJ Medhi liefert diesen geschmackvolle club-ready Remix von “Love Thing Pt. 2″ von NYC Künstler Eli Escobar. Mit einem Vocal, der an Kylie Minogue erinnert, ist der Track mal eben ganz klar Nummer eins in punkto Hands-in-the-air Tanzparty.

Drei Synth-Melodien, Streicher, eine funky Bassline, ein straighter Housebeat mit viel Perkussion… das Teil geht mit unglaublich viel Energie ab. Und der Download hat sogar 320kbs!

Die neue Trentemöller. Ja was ist das denn? Wow… ganz ehrlich, zuerst denke ich an Depeche Mode, dann an irgendwelche Metal Bands mit imposanten Intros und Trockeneisnebel. Sound zum aus dem Fenster schauen, vornehmlich in Zügen. Dabei sollte möglichst alles grau sein und Regen über die Scheibe laufen. (schaut mal hier)

Das erinnert stark an die frühen UNKLE Produktionen und ist es ja auch Nicht umsonst heißt das Album Reworked/Remixed. Wer sich noch dran erinnern kann, Begriffe wie Downbeat und Trip Hop passen hier ganz gut. Wer sich von Trentemöller einen Remix für den Clubeinsatz erhofft, wird hier ganz klar enttäuscht. Wer seine eigene Matrix im Kopf abspulen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Für Leute die gern mal ins BTM Schränkchen greifen: Bitte lasst es. Der Track könnte euch sonst in die Spree treiben. Der Sänger ist übrigens Fyfe Dangerfield. Spannende Sache und ideal für den November zum selbstbemitleiden.

Am 7. November 2011 erscheint als als Doppel-CD, Doppel-Vinyl und als Download Reworked/Remixed vom dänischen Produzent & DJ Anders Trentemøller, wie der Titel schon vermuten lässt bietet euch Trentemøller hier zahlreiche neue Remixe und auch Reworks. Thom Yorke von Radiohead mit “Twist” einem ordentlichen Minimal Kracher

“Twist” ein neuer Track von Thom Yorke… und man denkt sich… Wat is dat denn? Indie Electro? Aber von vorn. Alles in allem fühlt man sich zuerst an Carl Craig erinnert. Im speziellen an das legendäre Stück bug in the bass bin. Auf Songzeilen wartet man vergebens, endlos wird der Songtitel wiederholt und dient eher als Instrumentalisierung. Sobald das Vocal endet, wird es für den gemeinen Club DJ interessant. Dann entpuppt sich der Track als Minmal Kracher und geht zum Schluss auch gut ab. Und der gute Thom lächelt verschmitzt dazu… Nur zur Erinnerung: Er ist vor allem als Sänger der von Radiohead bekannt.

Gott ist das warm. Was sich da auf Soundcloud so langsam die Amplitudenleiste lang schleicht ist sowas von discofunkyglitzershit. Eigentlich von der 1980 LP Stone Jam, wurde dem ganzen hier eine Wellnesskur mit etwas mehr Druck verordnet. Groove Botox souzusagen. Feeel my Love… ganz sicher Schätzchen.

Apparat – Goodbye (Instrumental)

Ein wunderbar verhaltenes Stück Musik, dass sofort an Endzeitfilmsoundtracks denken lässt. Der Beat als Herzschlag mit flatternden Gitarrenschnippseln drüber untersetzt mit vocalartigen Flächen. Dann kommt das Klavier dazu. Warme Takte… die Flächen ziehen an und man kann einfach nur begeistert sein. Das Stück für den November in Berlin. Dazu müsste man eigentlich an der Klosterstraße stehen, inmitten des gelben Blätterteppichs und den Song so laut hören, dass vom hektischen Autoverkehr auf der Leipziger Straße nichts mehr übrig bleibt.

Hercules And Love Affair – dto.

Antony Hegarty von Antony & The Johnsons, meinte mal, er hätte viel mehr Lust Tracks zu machen, bei denen ein Beat drunter ist und damit die Leute zum Tanzen zu bringen… Zeit verstrich.

Und dann schlug „Blind“ ein wie eine Bombe. 2008 war Hercules And Love Affair plötzlich in aller Munde und Sänger Antony rockte endlich das Publikum. Wenn es vergangenes Jahr ein Projekt gab, auf das sich alle einigen konnten, dann war es diese New Yorker Combo. Macher des Projekts ist

der DJ & Produzent Andrew Butler. Co-Produzent ist Tim Goldsworthy der Mitbesitzer vom DFA Label.
Die Platte ist eine Hommage an die frühe House-Music like Frankie Knuckles und ganz ganz viel Discooo. Im minimal dominierten Berlin war dieses Album wie eine  riesige goldene Diskokugel, die dich anlächelte, und klarmachte: „Hey Guy, da draußen wartet wunderbare Musik auf dich mit Herz und Romantik.” Eine Platte, die man endlich mal wieder durchhören konnte. Das ist Pop des 21. Jahrhunderts: Glitzer & Glam gepaart mit Electronica.

Boys Noize: Oi!Oi!Oi!

Digitalism, Justice, Chromeo, Soulwax – mit diesen Namen haben wir schon mal eine Einordnung von Boysnoize. Hinter Boys Noize steckt der 24-jährige Berliner Alexander Ridha. Der junge Mann hat Remixe für Depeche Mode, Feist, Bloc Party & Kaiser Chiefs gemacht und jeder davon hat gerockt. Außerdem ist einer meiner Lieblingstracks zum Feiern auf diesem Album: der Remix von Feist “My Moon My Man”. Auf dem Album erwartet euch eine 14-Track-Electroclash-Party aus rockigem Electro & Techfunk. Sehr praktisch, wenn auf der Privatparty schon die Hütte kocht und man nicht laufend zum Laptop rennen will um den nächsten Kracher rauszupicken. Dieses Album kann man einfach durchlaufen lassen… Insofern ist der Titel des Albums nur zu Anfang etwas verwirrend, steht doch Oi!-Musik für den englischen Punkrock der 1980s á la Toy Dolls & UK Subs. Aber abrocken kann man zu beiden – und am besten zum Boysnoize-Remix von Feists “My Moon My Man”, der als Bonus auch seinen Weg auf das Album gefunden hat.

Moritz Von Oswald & Carl Craig – Recomposed

Techno muss keinesfalls bloß dancefloor-funktional sein, sondern kann durchaus auch mal der sogenannten U-Musik zeigen, wo die 808 hängt. Hier treffen zwei meiner Götter zusammen, die ambitionierte Reihe “Recomposed” der Deutschen Grammophon fortzusetzen, bei der Popinterpreten eingeladen werden, klassische Werke neu zu interpretieren. Wer wäre wohl fähiger diesen Job zu übernehmen als Mr.”Basic Channel”, und Mr. Craig, die Detroit-Techno-Legende.

Recomposed wurden: Maurice Ravels “Bolero, Rapsodie espagnole” und Modest Mussorgskys “Bilder einer Ausstellung”. Zumindest der Bolero dürfte selbst den straightesten Technonerds bekannt sein. Ravels Bolero ist zu einem Klassik-Standard geworden, dass in Einkaufszentren und Telefon-Warteschleifen zu hören ist. Letzten Endes ist die Wahl der berühmtesten repetitiven Komposition der Klassik nur logisch. Ein rhythmisches Loop, auf das in steter Steigerung Melodien aufgebaut werden, ist schlicht die Grundidee von Techno (nebst Beat). Natürlich hört man in den Neukompositionen die Liebe Craigs zu warmen Streicherarrangements und zum Zerpflücken von Sounds. Die „Dubruhe“ von Herrn Oswald mit seinen vereinzelten pluckernden Electronica-Elementen und sanft pumpender Bassdrum  offenbart sich spätestens dann ab Track 4. Auffallend ist, dass die klassischen Motive nicht nur schnöde mit Drums unterlegt wurden. Hier wurde gefeilt, durchdacht, reduziert und gewonnen. Für die mit wirklich offenen Ohren seien alle Tracks empfohlen, für alle anderen als Anspieltipps: Movement 4 und Movement 6.
